MODULAR HOME DESIGN, DONE PROPERLY.

Every mi shack® runs on the same idea: smarter, calmer, more site-specific homes built around the MIDS — Modular Integrated Design System. It’s not a fixed house product off a shelf. It’s an adaptable system for architect-designed homes, holiday homes and retreats right across Western Australia.

Designed by Marcus Browne RAIA, a registered architect in WA, each project starts with site due diligence, clear planning modules and a process shaped around the client, the budget, the site and the way it’ll be built — in-situ, prefab, or a hybrid of the two. The right method follows the project, not the other way around.

WHY MIDS MATTERS.

A good design system shouldn’t force every client into the same box. Instead of starting from scratch each time, MIDS tests the things that decide a project early — house size, sleeping zones, outdoor areas, orientation, privacy, buildability, budget logic and the approvals pathway.

That early testing matters, because projects tend to get expensive well before the big decisions have been properly examined. A Map iT and Shack Map give the project a clearer starting point — and give you and the architect a real way to test scope before anyone commits to full design, documentation, approvals and builder pricing.

PROJECTS ACROSS WA.

Below you’ll find mi shack® projects from across Western Australia — built homes, homes under construction and concept studies, stretching from Yallingup, Dunsborough and Eagle Bay to Fremantle, Esperance, Margaret River and Peppermint Grove Beach.

Each one starts from the same system and ends up entirely its own — proof that a clear framework creates personality and site logic, not sameness. Have a browse.

I don't think there is anything I would change...

Lisa, First Owner, 01 Whiteshack

Tony was quite sad the shack had finished. We'll just have to do it again!

Tony & Rosie, Owners, 03 Clarkeshack

We regretfully only use it as week-ender, but could well live their sometime in the future.
